Sorry, We Missed a Week… Whoops

Scott was away and didn’t do us a blog post (boooo), so we’re going to cover the last couple of weeks today

Paulina’s say: Last week in Wolf Pack world we seen Wolf Master Scott taking a fully deserved break in the sun, leaving me: Coach-in-training P to take my first ever session under the professional eye of Coach Rich.

I would be lying if I said I was not nervous! Choosing hills as the first session was a bit risky business. But with Jersey Marathon day fast approaching, including hills in the training is part of survival. And doing it with the group makes it so much easier! The Pack done pretty well and after recovering seemed to love me again!

Thursday Coffee run was yet another stunning and dry morning. A lot of giggles, chit chats followed by buckets of coffee. Anyone else confused what to wear for runs these days?!

We also do love a good Friday outing: Heart to Heart 5k fun run followed by dinner & drinks. Basically replenishing the carbs in any shape or form!

Scott’s say: After a cancelled flight and a delayed flight, I was still collecting my bags from the conveyor belt at 5pm, but would never want to miss intervals!

Making it in the nick of time… It was worth it. This week we NAILED intervals. 800m with a 200m float. Aim was to not have to walk after the 800m and we smashed it. Great big session the week before race week, an awesome base builder.

Thursday felt like I was still in Mallorca, sun was out. Shorts and tee weather

Marathon Week

We will doing a session suitable for those racing or spectating or not invovled at all

Warm Up
Easy run / mobility / drills

Main Session
5 x 2 mins on / 1 min off
5 x 1 min on / 1 min off
5 x 30 secs on / 1 min off

Cool Down
Easy run / stretches / debrief

Aim: CONSISTENCY - be as consistent as you can for the 2 mins, the 1 min and the 30 secs. 30 secs a little faster than the 1 min. 1 min a little faster than the 2 mins

THURSDAY

As always… meet at Trenton Square (outside Coopers IFC) for 7am and we’ll run for about 30 minutes (15 minutes out and 15 minutes back), followed by a coffee and catch up at The Loft, St Helier. You can run at whatever pace you like. We will have a lead and tail runner so you’ll never be left behind
