A Suspicious Amount of Work Meetings…

This week, we took on a hill session… a few people had to stay late at work, not long after the session was announced (hmmm…)

I’ve been reluctant to do a hill session recently as I am aware, it can be a tougher session. We have a wide range of abilities and I want to make sessions accessible to everyone and I know that hill sessions can be scary (even though they’re not). I remember Danni telling us after her first ever hill session that it was her favourite session! With that in mind and a few others begging, I was suckered in. The session was a little loop around People’s Park, so there was a lot of flat and down as well as a hill, which meant there was plenty of time for recovery.

I think it was a success…

Thursday is always a hit! Amazing to see some more new faces this week as well as seeing some old ones we’ve not seen for a while.

WEDNESDAY

Warm Up
Light Jog / Mobility / Drills

Main Session
2 x 5 mins on / 2 mins off
2 x 4 mins on / 2 mins off
2 x 2 mins on / 1 min off
2 x 1 min on / 1 min off

Aim: Try to keep the 5 min reps and the 4 min reps the same pace, then a slightly faster pace for the 2 min and 1 min reps but want them to be consistent too

Cool Down
Light Jog / Stretches / Debrief

THURSDAY

Meet at Trenton Square (outside Coopers IFC) for 7am and we’ll run for about 30 minutes (15 minutes out and 15 minutes back), followed by a coffee and catch up at The Loft, St Helier. You can run at whatever pace you like. We will have a lead and tail runner so you’ll never be left behind
